BRUNEL READY PROGRAMME - 2023
Over 10 weeks I took part in the Brunel University’s flagship employability course: The READY Programme. My teammates Zarrin Hassan, Alishah Ahmed, Sarra Khadir, Prithiga Kajentheran and I worked on the aim of designing a product which would improve the lives of people by solving the electricity problem in the Mayukwayukwa Refugee Camp in Zambia.
Thanks to my team and our mentor Connor Smith, we were announced joint winners on Tuesday evening, along with Team Udongo, at the 2023 finals!
Our team Six Stars created the winning product called the Binergy! A simple biomass generator product to solve the issue of safe cooking and a reliable energy supply. The main idea of the programme is to enhance our employability skills, but I feel that I have also developed my project management, marketing, leadership & teamwork skills on the way. We are looking forward to further upscale and establish our idea in Zambia.

D-FORD
In a six-week Design Factory Ford Challenge, I worked with a multidisciplinary team to explore future mobility solutions in non-urban areas. The experience enhanced my skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and project management, while fostering creativity and research-driven design. My active role was crucial in generating impactful ideas and contributing to our team’s success.
MCCHALLENGE
In this six-week global challenge, students from 10 design factories collaborated to design sustainable Happy Meal toys, tackling issues like plastic waste and ethical sourcing. The project fostered innovation, teamwork, and personal growth. My active participation was key to our impactful final pitch, reflecting McDonald’s commitment to a more sustainable future.
GOLDMAN SACHS
I completed the Goldman Sachs Software Engineering Job Simulation on Forage, acting as a governance analyst assessing IT security. I identified outdated password hashing by successfully cracking passwords using Hashcat. I then wrote a memo proposing security improvements, such as increasing minimum password length and implementing a dedicated hashing algorithm, to enhance the company’s password protection standards.

TRYHACKME - INTRODUCTION TO CYBER SECURITY
I completed the Overcoming Procrastination certification, learning strategies to identify and address procrastination, enhance time management, and develop tailored approaches to overcome common procrastination triggers.
MASTERCARD
Completed a job simulation as an analyst for Mastercard’s Security Awareness Team, identifying phishing threats and improving security training across vulnerable business areas.
PWC - CYBERSECURITY
Completed a PwC cybersecurity simulation, gaining expertise in integrated defense, risk assessment, and security recommendations; demonstrated proficiency in network segmentation and firewall configuration.
